♥I LOVE it! Cute and different, pretty too! Arrived quickly.

♥I absolutely love the bracelet! Thank you so much! Shipping was so fast also.

♥The fish bead is just as adorable in person as on-site. Have started using this to track both water and protein intake (KIDNEY DISEASE). 1 bead per 2g protein, 1 bead per 4oz liquids makes tracking simple, even if I'm dining out and someone tops up my glass. I've tried other tracking methods before, but most were more cumbersome - no more scribbling in notebooks for me!

♥I ordered this for a gift…but now I think I want to keep it for myself. LOVE the little turtle. So sweet. Very well made and arrived quick!

Batik Watercolor Paintings of my daughter's cat ShotGun

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

This is MoJo my son and daughter-in-laws little dog. I made a watercolor batik painting of him for them. It was inspired by this photo I had taken. It was painted on ginwashi rice paper and then mounted on a canvas panel.
This is my first large batik watercolor painting. An English Bulldog Watercolor Batik on rice paper mounted on canvas. My inspiration is from an original painting by  award winning watercolor, collage, and batik artist Kathie George. I purchased a packet from Katie's web site. Each Packet includes a pattern, complete instructions, a 4 X 6 photo and several extra drawings to assist you with placement of color and wax. See this batik watercolor and others at my Etsy shop GinnyRiggle.etsy.com. The link for this painting is below.

My new watercolor batik painting. Love doing watercolor batik.

Original Watercolor Batik elephant painting on rice paper mounted on a 12" x 16" canvas. This is not a giclee or print - it is the original painting.

This is a painting done through the ancient batik technique that dates back thousands of years, but instead of using silk and chemical dyes, I've used rice paper, ink, watercolor, and wax. The painting also has a coat of cold wax medium that is a museum-quality protective coating applied after completion for extra protection.

My paintings are not photo realistic, but rather a free form impressionist style with a distress feel due to the texture of the rice paper and the batik process. The painting is ready to hang on the wall or can be framed.
